Driving started as a tremendous novelty at Compass Rose, so there are tons of photos from 2005 when it began. We started with Barney, a pony of indeterminant origin and Theo, a young Friesian. Theo had some training and Barney had none. With the help of Paul Maye, we have had a great time learning to drive and showing.

Theo has been out showing successfully at Pleasure Driving Shows. He has been joined by another young Friesian, Thistle (Thijs fan t' Zand) who arrived in summer 2005 and became part of a pair with Theo late that year. Theo and Thistle have competed as a pair in Arena Driving Trials and Cones competitons. Thistle has also done a singles Arena Driving Trial.

Barney is going to make his competitive driving Debut in April 2007 at the Lord Sterling Combined Driving Event (CDE) in Basking Ridge, NJ. He loves doing the cones. Theo and Thistle will also make their first start at Lord Sterling doing the Prelim division with Paul Maye as whip.
